September

I found this over on dad's blog and I'm aways up for killing time with stuff like this. I'm bending the rules a little, but who cares? I like it this way.

Suave and compromising. Compromises aren't my strong suit, but I'll say hell yes to that suave bit there.
Careful, cautious and organized. Careful sometimes, cautious at times, always over organized.
Likes to point out people's mistakes. I don't like to. I can't help myself, okay?
Likes to criticize. Again, not so much with the liking it. Unless I don't like the person. It's just a compulsion.
Stubborn. To the end of the world.
Quiet but able to talk well. I suppose, but I'm getting over that quiet thing super fast.
Calm and cool. I've been known to be, but it's not my normal M.O.
Kind and sympathetic. Of course!
Concerned and detailed. Chyesss.
Loyal but not always honest. That about sums it up.
Does work well. Always. I'm very dedicated.
Very confident. You know it. But it wasn't always the case.
Sensitive. Once in a while.
Thinking generous. Not positive what this means, but both words sound like me.
Good memory. Amazing memory, thank you.
Clever and knowledgeable. Uhhh, yeah.
Loves to look for information. You have no idea how much I love info hunting.
Must control oneself when criticizing. Yup, otherwise I go way too far and end up massively hurting feelings. Remember the part where it's a compulsion?
Able to motivate oneself. Sometimes. . .
Understanding. Mhmmm.
Fun to be around. I should hope so.
Secretive. I've been known to be.
Loves sports, leisure and traveling. Chyaa.
Hardly shows emotions. I hide the unhappy ones, yessss.
Tends to bottle up feelings. Mhmmm.
Very choosy, especially in relationships. Haha, yeah.
Systematic. In the biggest way ever.

Tell A Story Day (And Happy Birthday Daddy!)

I discovered over on Qacei's blog that April 27th is Tell a Story Day, so it got me thinking.

Shouldn't I celebrate Tell a Story Day?

And yes, yes I should.

But that brings the question of 'How does one celebrate Tell a Story Day?' The answer may seem obvious.

Tell a story, of course!

But then the question arises 'Do I make up a story or tell one about me?'

This is my blog, yes? Yes. It's my place to be self-involved! So of course I'm going to tell a story about me.

But there are so many! How does one choose?

And then it came to me! I'll just put down my fondest memory.

But wait! What's my fondest memory? They're all fond. Well, most of 'em anyway.

So what to do?

Do I tell the story about the time I accidentally blew up a bunch of firecrackers in a poor dogs face?

Do I tell the story about the time we fought over a Strawberry Julius and ended up with fruity drink all over us?

Do I tell the story about the time in Corvallis when we played with the leftover rubbing alcohal from when Harper visited?

Do I tell the story about the time Chiara and I danced to the Jackson Five?

Do I tell the story about the time we drove over the speed humps? (I'm not kidding, on Whidbey all the signs say Speed Hump.)

Do I tell the story about the time Caleb got knocked on his ass and maybe got a concussion?

Do I tell the story about the time we did EHS cheers in Grandma's living room?

Do I tell the story about the time Alexis sprayed Page with Silly String?

Speaking of Silly String, do I tell the story about the time Renna sprayed it in my ear?

Do I tell the story about the Imperial march at Jerry and Cori's wedding?

Do I tell the story about my 13th birthday?

Do I tell the story about Chloe's 13th birthday? Do I finally explain 'one is more sour' to the world?

Do I tell the story about Rebecca's party?

Do I tell the story about Chloe narrating while she snorkled?

Do I tell the story about the time we went in that Haunted House with Kyla and Logan?

Do I tell the story about how Pete licks my fingers?

Do I tell the story about when we built the fort at Sandy and Larry's?

Do I tell the stories about Desmond and Molly?

Do I tell all the stories from all the gatherings of the cousins?

Do I tell the story of how I came to be called Baby Penguin?
Do I tell the story about what happens at the Fourth of July?

Do I tell the story about the time we stayed up all night watching Buffy with Qacei, Hunter, and Logan, then tried to go to Blockbuster at seven am when Hunter and Logan left with the rest of the discs?

Do I tell the story about the time Hunter and I tried to light Logan on fire?

Do I tell the story about the time we went to Lake Stevens with Chiara and Elena?

Do I tell the story about going to The Academy Is ... concert at the House of Blues in New Orleans?

Do I tell the story about that barracuda when I went snorkling at the Dry Tortugas?

Do I tell the story about Black Sheep?

Do I tell the story about Chelsea's birthday party when Annie fell on her ass and Dylan carried me off and dumped me outside?

Do I tell the story about the day we got Angelo?

Do I tell the story about everybody getting buried in sand on the ocean field trip at NBTSC 06?

Do I tell the story of the staircase dwellings at LIFE Is Good?

Do I tell the story about John getting arrested when he and Marty went on a two am horchata run?

Do I tell the story of the Mayan Ruins we made?

Do I tell the story about the salt snorting? Both times?

Do I tell the story about Madison going swimming in the Bay? In Febuary?

Or the story about when we went rock climbing with Brian?

Or maybe when we did that 750883838900 mile hike at Chiricahua?

Or maybe the story about when I taught Devon how to clean fish?

Or that time I had an epiphany? Or maybe it was just a swift mental kick on the ass.

Or that time with the pinata? Or that other time with that other pinata?

Or the time Asher and John switched clothes and everybody almost mistook them for each other?

Or the thumb wars with the condoms?

Or the time we blew up the studded condom?

Or when we cut Hayden's hair!

Or the time we got krab (a.k.a. fake crab) and took it to the Quad to have a picnic?

Or the time we played in the Seattle Public Library?

Or Halloween in New Orleans with Brian?

Or paintballing at Jerry's bachelor party when I kicked ass?

Or when Mezza Luna got scared by the cat and dove for cover and we had to coax her out with delicious foodstuffs?

Or that time I failed miserably in all senses of the word at pancakes?

Or that time they made us go out in the Bay in the middle of Winter to get those logs?

Or Oregon Country Fair?

Or Hempfest?

Or when we dyed Easter eggs with Lori and Brian?

Or D&D at Logan and Hunter's when Chris tried to take the Shiny and I killed the Lich king?

Or when we found the Spike coat?

Ooh! Ooh! I know! When we went to that Casino and blew a ton of qaurters on arcade games!

No. Maybe that time I went sledding in the laundry basket then sledded down the front steps?

Or hide and seek with Fergus? Just about anything with Fergus?

Oh! I finally thought of something.

Once upon a time there was a magical place called Benures Bay. It was in the fantastical land of the Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. There was a really cool family anchored there on a shitty sailboat that kept breaking named Mariposa and they were the only people there. They were happy. They ate dinner in the cockpit (Sole Chicken! But that's another story) and went swimming all day. Then one day a very strange fish turned up one night while they were eating dinner. As they tried to get a look they realised it was a remora! They fed him some of their dinner, seeing as he clearly wasn't attatched to a shark. He came back again and and they named him Schnetterling (which is German for butterfly, like Mariposa is Spanish for butterfly). Finally, sadly, the really cool family decided it was time to leave this magical land and sail to another one called the Baths. And Schnetterling followed them! I guess they were really cool. When they got there they realised the remora was still with them. Surprised and pleased they continued to feed him the short while they were in the Baths. Then they had to leave and went back down the channel they'd just sailed up to get to the baths. And Schnetterling followed them yet again! It seemed the really cool family had made quite the impression the the little suckerfish. He stayed with them for awhile longer before leaving them to continue on to whatever it was he was looking for. The really cool family missed his company, as he'd charmed them, but knew he was better off finding his own way and not mooching off them all the time. So it was a happy ending.

It's a nice story, yeah, but it's still Not Good Enough because today is also Daddy's

60th BIRTHDAY!!!!!!1!!!111

ohemgee.

So I should tell a story about him, right?

Right.

But now I have to think of another goddamn story. Sheesh.

Okay. I can do this.

Nope, you know what? I'm just gonna throw out some cool stuff about him like I did with Chloe's birthday.

He graduated high school in 6/66.

He used to be a librarian.

The word 'tact' is not in his vocabulary.

He can always make us laugh.

He's a walking encyclopedia.

He's pretty much just the coolest dad in existence, plain and simple.

He tells the best zombie stories.

Photo Dairy: Day Eighteen

Started out as a normal enough day. Kinda rainy, kinda boring.

But I was wearing the awesomest pants EVAR, so it was all hunky dorey.

And then . . .

Hello snow!
And, hey, I was a bit cold, so I'm not exactly smiling, but don't be fooled. I'm flippin' ecstatic.

Friday Fill-Ins

1. The last time I lost my temper I got pretty scary! I get pissed all the time, but when I really lose my temper I'm a force to be reckoned with. It's quite a sight.

2. Stupid, boring days with nothing to do are what I'm fed up with!

3. The next book I'd like to read is The Subtle Knife, by Phillip Pullman.

4. The Mayers' visit is what I'm looking forward to.

5. If you can't get rid of the skeleton[s] in your closet, throw some Febreze in there so your clothes don't smell!

6. The best thing I got in the mail recently was Netflix. Somebody needs to send me a letter. or a present. I'm alays down for the presents.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to the Mayers (!), tomorrow my plans include something purely epic and Sunday, I want to get crazy with it and possibly do something fabulous with houseguests!

Phot Diary: Day Seventeen

Watched Big Brother On Demand. Kill me now. It'd be a mercy killing.

Then Chloe and I took a stroll down to EHS at 9:30 to chill and we ate cookies. We also found half a skateboard.

Photo Diary: Day Sixteen

I indulged myself in another horribly lazy day at the computer while Chloe went with Logan and Hunter to Aaron and Morgaine's house. Go me!

But I don't wanna leave you hangin', so here's a picture from when Chloe, Chelsea, and Sam got their noses pierced!

You can pretend it's from today.

Ooh! Ooh! And this one, too!

Photo Diary: Day Fifteen

Movie night with STUN. We dressed up as vampires (with a definite emphasis on the Buffy character-ness of the vampires). Hunter has all the really good pictures, so you'll have to make do with what I got.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things I'm Going to Do

(Vague, I know.)

1. Go everywhere, see everything. Stay in one place for a little while before moving on to the next. At least for a little while. It'll be a long time before I'm ready to settle.

2. Get tattooed on my eighteenth birthday. I have something picked out and everything.

3. Give someone a badass face painting.

4. Have kid/s at some point in time.

5. Get into a knock-down-drag-out fight with somebody. I love shouting matches and I haven't had a good one in forever. Not since Chloe and I fought at every chance we got.

6. Photograph Europe and Asia. And everywhere. And everyone.

7. Go rock climbing this summer in Leavenworth(I'm hella excited, it's been WAY too long).

8. See Harper this August, hopefully at camp.

9. Have a friggin kickass time with the Mayers (and mebbe the Golds, if they turn up) this weekend.

10. Learn to rollerskate backwards. Try as I might, it just won't work.

11. Buy an awesomely amazing dress (I'm not thinking prom dress type, I'm thinking Summer dress type) for no reason.

12. Get piercings at LIFE is Good, Live and Learn (perhaps), and in Italy and Ireland to remember said things by.

13. Find happiness or unhappiness. Contentment is not an option.

Photo Diary: Day Fourteen

No picture cuz I continued my vegetable streak today, but I did find this on Megan's MySpace, from last year's Spaghetti Feed.
You should come this year. The date is kinda up the air as of now, but sometime in May.
Be there. I'll be working there. You'll get to see me. That and some awesome food should so be enough to get you there.

Photo Diary: Day Thirteen

meeko
4 am raccoon fight in the backyard. Major doings. Then I stayed up all night and became a vegetable, completely glued to my computer chair.

Photo Diary: Day Ten

Purchases.
Chloe and I caught the bus to the mall. Got Cinnabons and strawberry Juliuses. Went to Michael's for supplies for the making of itty bitty fairies. Went to Half Price Books. Went to Sam Goody (see above picture). Caught the bus home.

Thursday Thirteen (And My 100th Post)

Panic at the Disco's (formerly Panic! at the Disco) new album is out, Pretty. Odd. I gotta say, even though it's WAY different than their first album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, it's still rockin' my world. So here are thirteen of my favorite lyrics from Pretty. Odd.

1. Back to the street
Down to our feet
Losing the feeling of feeling unique
Do you know what I mean?
(Nine in the Afternoon)

2. Clouds are marching along, singing a song, just like they do.
If the clouds were singing a song, I'd sing along, wouldn't you too?
If you just knew what they could do.
Oh, if you just knew, what would they do?
And if the birds are just hollow words flying along, singing a song,
What would they do?
If they just knew what they could do.
Oh, if they just knew.
(Do You Know What I'm Seeing?)

3. Take a chance, take you shoes off, dance in the rain
And I was flashing around
And the news spread all over town
I’m not complaining that it’s raining I’m just saying that I like it a lot
More than you think
If the sun would come out and sing with me.
(I Have Friends In Holy Spaces)

4. Hey moon, please forget to fall down
Hey moon, don't you go down
Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
Weathervanes my one and lonely.
(Northern Downpour)

5. When the moon fell in love with the sun
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night
When the sun found the moon
She was drinking tea in a garden
Under the green umbrella trees
In the middle of summer
When the moon found the sun
He looked like he was barely hanging on
But her eyes saved his life
In the middle of summer
In the middle of summer
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night
Summer
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night
Summer, summer, summer, summer
All was golden when the day met the night
So he said, "Would it be all right
If we just sat and talked for a little while
If in exchange for your time I give you this smile?"
So she said, "That's okay
As long as you can make a promise
Not to break my little heart
Or leave me all alone in the summer."
Well he was just hanging around
Then he fell in love
And he didn't know how
But he couldn't get out
Just hanging around
Then he fell in love
In the middle of summer
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night
Summer
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night
Summer, summer, summer, summer
When the moon fell in love with the sun
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night
In the middle of summer . . .
(When the Day Met the Night)

6. Imagine knowing me
It's the greatest thing you'd ever imagine
But you'll never know until you're there
No, you'll never know until you're there
(Pas De Cheval)

7. She's the smoke
She's dancin' fancy pirouettes
Swan diving off of the deep end
Of my tragic cigarette
(The Piano Knows Something I Don't Know)

8. And we're all too small
To talk to God
Yes, we're all too smart
To talk to God
(Behind the Sea)

9. Allow me to exaggerate a memory or two
Where summer's lasted longer than
Longer than we do
When nothing really mattered
Except for me to be with you
But in time we all forgot and
We all grew
(Folkin' Around)

10. She held the world upon a string
But she didn't ever hold me
Spun the stars on her fingernails
But it never made her happy
Cause she couldn't ever have me
She said she won the world at a carnival
But she could never win me
Cause she couldn't ever catch me
(She Had the World)

11. I don’t love you
I'm just passing the time
You could love me if I knew how to lie
But who could love me?
I am out of my mind
(She Had the World)

12. The sun was always in her eyes
She didn't even see me
But that girl had so much love, she'd wanna kiss you all the time
Yeah, she'd wanna kiss you all the time
(She Had the World)

13. I'm sure it didn’t ruin her
Just made her more interesting
(She Had the World)

Bonus! 14. But there ain't no sunshine in his song
We must reinvent love
(Mad As Rabbits)

Bring It

Photo Diary: Day Nine

My Obama jacket came yesterday! I got home from Logan and Hunter's this afternoon and found it. Joys. It's super fuzzy.

But before that we went to Game Day at the Snohomish Public Library. We do it once a month; mom sets it up for STUN. This week no games were played. We made paper airplanes. We also balled up pieces of paper and tried to hit the very high ceiling with them. It was harder than it sounds, take my word for it.

Photo Diary: Day Eight

Went to lunch with Grandma, GG, Aunty Pam, and Madison for GG's birthday at Scuttlebutt. They have beer bottles hanging from their awning.

Went to Logan and Hunter's and watched Angel until 4 am.
