Resolutions

Yeah, I realize it's already four months into the New Year, but I'm allowed to make me some resolutions for said New Year whenever I feel like it, mmkay?

  • Go on an adventure at least once a week.
  • Go running at least twice a week.

  • Experiment with photography more (and also get a photo editing software like Photoshop or PhotoImpact to play with).

  • Get a summer job if the craziness of the schedule allows for it.

  • Keep my head in the craziness of the schedule.

  • Get some penpals.

  • Meet some crazy awesome people and befriend them.

  • Go back to meditating every night before bed.

  • Learn to play guitar.

  • Learn to spin poi. Slowly work up to fire poi.

  • Learn some freakin' Italian so I'm not a mute when we go to Italy.

  • Finish that NaNoWriMo novel that I almost finished, then abandoned.

  • More piercings.

  • Finish redocorating my bedroom walls.

  • Keep my room clean (?).

  • Learn more about history.

  • I watched Stick It last night and now I want abs like hers. Maybe I can do it?

  • Stop abandoning projects.

  • Dress up as Spike and Drusilla for Halloween with Chloe. Or be the Black Spy and the White Spy.

  • Write in my journal more often.

  • Pie someone in the face.

  • Learn to play some Damien Rice on the piano.

  • Start taking advantage of the intense amount of freedom I have.

  • Party like a rockstar on a daily basis.

Bookish

I lifted this from Steph.

0. Take five books off your bookshelf.
1. Book #1 -- first sentence
2. Book #2 -- last sentence on page fifty
3. Book #3 -- second sentence on page one hundred
4. Book #4 -- next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty
5. Book #5 -- final sentence of the book
6. Make the five sentences into a paragraph.

Wind howled through the night, carrying a scent that would change the world. She was in a place full of sunlight. He was a magician of secondary abilities, but a consummate politician, who had succeeded in remaining in power through his ability to play his colleagues off one another. He jumped up suddenly and bolted out the door. As Mo had said: writing stories is a kind of magic, too.

First Book: Eragon by Christopher Paolini
Second Book: The Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice
Third Book: The Golem's Eye by Jonathan Stroud
Fourth Book: The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
Fifth Book: Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

10 Things

So I just found this on mom's blog and, hey, I need to kill time until Chloe wakes up (then we're watching Angel). So here, my loyal readers, is the 10 Things meme.

The idea is to note things you've done that you think might be unique or, at least, rare. You might be surprised by how many people end up saying "Hey, I've done that, too!" List them in your blog and let the fun begin. (Alternatively, you could add your list in comments here or put a link back to any entry you write.)

1. Rode in an SUV with a mini horse in the back. He was small. What was the point of hitching up the trailer?

2. Pierced my nose. Twice.

3. Been to Hempfest.

4. Blown up a studded condom.

5. Weathered three hurricanes on a sailboat.

6. Served spaghetti dinner.

7. Been to Oregon Country Fair.

8. Dressed up like a pirate.

9. Sat in a tire at the happiest place on earth.

10. Blown up a jellyfish.

Let Me Ask You

Ad It Up

I'm stealing an idea from Mary that she did in a post awhile ago. It was something to do (and I've been having an urge to blog lately), so here it goes. All you do is hit up The Slogan Generator and slap whatever you get on some pretty pictures.

My Late Contribution

For Saint Patrick's Day. I know, I know, I'm Irish I should put some effort into this holiday, but I even forgot to wear green, so this is what you get.

clickies.

Introducing . . .

After much internet buzz, the band Kirkham Lancashire has finally released their very first album, But Stories We've Got, and plan to go on an international tour this Fall.

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/ The third picture, no matter what it is, is your album cover. You then take the pic, add your band name and the album title to it, and then post your pic to your blog.

What do you do

when you're watching your Grandparents' house for almost three weeks while they're in Cabo San Lucas?

Why, you get bored of course.

And what do you do about this boredom?

You watch crazy amounts of TV and lots of HBO.

You make a countdown to NonCon North.

You take the dog for an insane amount of walks.

You go jogging every single morning, which you never do when you're at home.

You ignore the dishes, which desperately need doing (and then do them at the last possible moment).

You work on the playlist for the NonCon North Mardi Gras party.

You take an insane amount of pictures of yourself.

You snort salt with your cousins.

You watch your cousin go swimming in Puget Sound (in Febuary) and scream like she's being murdered.

You cook things.

You help your sister start a webcomic.

You talk to your boyfriend on MySpace every. Single. Day.
And sometimes on the phone.

You play dress-up.

You read Eat, Pray, Love.

Eat Pray Love

And, finally, you resort to reading fanfiction.
