I am from stuffed animals, from Barbies and Windows 2000, and more books than the endless shelves can hold.















I am from the purple house with the yellow slide on the back porch, where you sit and soak up the sun in the summertime.

I am from the rose of Sharron and the rhodedendron and the cala lillies that can never be killed.

I am from bright and early Christmas mornings and quick tempers, from Papa Marty and Grandma Mary and Maiers.





















I am from the adoration of small children and alcoholism.

From "Once upon a time there was a flesh-eating zombie" and "I love you".

















I am from an ex-Catholic and science-based belief systems and worshipping nothing I can't see with my own two eyes.

I am from the home of Microsoft and great green fields and castle ruins, jambalaya and hand-picked-blackberries blackberry pie.

From the man of many laughs and many words, though the words aren't always as happy as the laughs, the little bird who brightens your day with just a smile.

I am from boxes in the basement, old jewelry, paintings of roses and fruit, and never a moment of silence. I am from tears and fights and from freedom and more love than should be able to fit in one heart.

We got a tree!

Finally. We got our tree yesterday and put it up last night. Hijinks ensued. First the tree wouldn't stand up straight. Right now it's still slightly crooked. Our angel looks kind of like she's of the avenging variety. Second the tree was covered with big hunks of ice that we had to pick off. Third the strings of lights were kinked all to hell cuz they were fresh out of the box. But after that it was cake.

My 365 post or yesterday was a picture of my iPod, which got me thinking. My iPod has a name. So does lots of other stuff I own. I have a tendency to name everything.
